The Parliament of Djibouti is unicameral. It is made up of a National Assembly, whose members bear the title of deputies. The National Assembly is composed of 65 deputies elected by direct universal suffrage on one of the lists presented to voters by the parties throughout the territory. The members of the National Assembly enjoy parliamentary immunity.
Parliament Leadership
The Bureau of the National Assembly is composed of the President, two Vice-Presidents, a Secretary-Quaestor and a Secretary. The President of the National Assembly is elected for the duration of the legislature by secret ballot. The other members of the Bureau are elected separately, at the beginning of each legislature until the 6th ordinary session of the legislature.
