Bomet County Assembly

Bomet County Assembly consists of 36 Members, who include twenty five (25) Ward Representatives, each elected by registered voters of the wards, each ward constituting a single member constituency. Ten (10) members are nominated by political parties according to their proportional representation in the County Assembly to represent special interests including persons with disabilities, minorities and the youth, and the Honourable Speaker elected from outside the House.

County Assembly Leadership

Born in Koinon Constituency of Bomet County, Honourable Cosmas Kipngetich Korir is a career agriculturalist with particular passion in crop development, value addition and agribusiness. He holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Resource Economics from University of Kabianga. He also holds a Bachelors’ degree in Agribusiness Management and a Diploma in Farm Management from Egerton University. He has a career spanning over 20 years in the agriculture sector, having served in different leadership and policy making positions in public and private sector.
